Houston Dynamo Team History

The Houston Dynamo are a Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise that has won two MLS Cups as well as the U.S. Open Cup in 2018. The team was founded in 2005 after the San Jose Earthquakes relocated to Texas. The main rival of the Houston Dynamo is FC Dallas, and the two teams compete in the Texas Derby. The Dynamo lost to Tigres UANL from Liga MX in the quarterfinals. In November 2020, the Dynamo unveiled their new brand identity and they are now known officially as the Houston Dynamo Football Club.
